THE ROAD OF HOLINESS

Isaiah 35:8. 

And a highway(A) will be there;it will be called the Way of Holiness;(B) it will be for those who walk on that Way.The unclean(C) will not journey on it;  wicked fools will not go about on it.

Yes THE ROAD OF HOLINESS; then what is the Holiness we are talking about first of all? This holiness we are talking here is of our Lord God, which is of being holy and have no business with unclean, cause unclean defiles a man and can no longer stand at the point of been holy as God want us to be.

We see in our opening verse that the scripture highlights it clear to everyone that all those who are unclean can't walk or even pass by this highway of holiness. Then we can ask ourselves were is this road leading us to, the answer is simple and straight forward to enternal life (Zoe).

With the reference of other scriptures let's look what truly lead to the Road of Holiness? and what can't lead us to this Road of Holiness?

Psalms 24:3-6

3 Who may ascend the mountain(A) of the Lord?Who may stand in his holy place?(B) 4 The one who has clean hands(C) and a pure heart,(D)who does not trust in an idol(E)or swear by a false god.[a]5 They will receive blessing(F) from the Lord and vindication(G) from God their Savior 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,who seek your face,(H) God of Jacob.[b][c]

We see first in this context of vr3 which give us the questions concerning Holiness.

1. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?

2. Who may stand in His Holy place?

Then coming in vr4 it's giving us the clear answer that we need concerning our pending questions. " He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. Matthew 5:8 " Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

Then we see again that in vr5 they are now the benefits of this answer we have get in vr4 if we follow and abide to it; He shall receive Blessings from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of His salvation.

This finally shows that moment the righteousness of God is upon you then salvation is upon you and finally you can walk and pass in the road of Holiness.

Then we see in vr6 that for us to maintain this salvation till the end we need to continue seeking His face , so that He guides us and protect from the traps around us;

We all know we can't be like that pure and Holy but by God's sufficient grace we can do it by our faith in Christ. Own our strength it's impossible to achieve it thus why we have our guider and councillor who is the Holy Spirit ( Spirit of truth)

Zachariah 4:6. So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:(A) ‘Not(B) by might nor by power,(C) but by my Spirit,’(D) says the Lord Almighty.

This is possible to live in purity for God said," What is impossible with men it's possible with God", all He wants from you is to hear His voice and obey it cause we all know obedience is better than sacrifice.

What this phrase mean is this; we can be worshipers, preachers of the gospel and be committed to every kind of God's work that is sacrifice but if we can't be obedient to His voice we are doomed like king Saul in 1 Samuel 16:18-22

We are still talking about purity and uncleanness. If we amend our ways of living and thinking by been purified in righteous the way of Holiness we shall pass it.

We know our maker want us to be Holy for He is Holy, this is evident that Purity can be found inmen only if we seek Him with all our hearts and seek His guidance in all we do. We know by God's mercy and grace we shall live the life God want us to live and we shall not miss this Road of Holiness, let's ask for God's mercy and grace so that we manage and maintain this journey of righteousness.
