BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
Philippians 4:11.
Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances.
We see here that our very own Apostle Paul was content with what he had in life through Christ, cause Christ is self-sufficient. This comes as an example to everyone of us to remain content with what we have.
Cause if you can't be satisfied ( content) with what you have you will never be happy as the results you will find fighting yourself or with others. If you think what you have is not enough better ask God who give generously and He will give it to you. He said in John 14:13-14, that ,"whatever you need ask in His name and He will give it to you."
2 Samuel 12:8. And I gave you your master's house, and your master's wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have added that much again.
God was upset with King David when He slept with Bethsheba thus why God said to David if what I gave you wasn't enough and you wanted more you could have asked for more. So we see that not been content with what you have can lead you to sin.
We also see in 1 Chronicles 21 that David was punished for counting the warriors of Israel, this lead Him to sin against God cause counting what God as given you at last you will start comparing with others and start thinking God is not blessing you and that lead to Spirit of competitive. You will start competiting with others.
Why most of us we aren't satisfied with what God has given us? or why we don't have cause all we want is for pleasure.
We see that pleasures lead Cain to kill is own brother, but God is telling Him if you would have done what was right your sacrifice I could have accept.
This pleasures are only there to deceive us cause you will want to be seen and known for what you have; this is the results Jacob deceived his brother Esau so that he sell him birthrights of the first born which was not the way of God for him to be served by his brother but he was interested of been recognised as the first born.
However, may God grant us the grace to be content with what we have so that we don't fall into sin and competitive spirit, let's learn to appreciate others on what they have and also on what God as given us. And always ask God the giver of everything when you don't have.
