NEVER BE IN COMFORTABLE ZONE
Exodus 14:10-15
10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were very frightened; so the Israelites cried out to the Lord. 11 Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians [as slaves] than to die in the wilderness.”13 Then Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid! Take your stand [be firm and confident and undismayed] and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for those Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.”15 The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to move forward [toward the sea]
We see in this context that the children of Israel were too much comfortable with the life they were living in Egypt ( the land of slavery) thus the results they thought coming out of the bondage of slavery was a big burden to them.
We see now in the reference book of Exodus 5 where Moses and Aaron came into Pharaoh's presence after they stopped the children of Israel to work and told Pharaoh to let go of them. It turned out that Pharaoh was angry and doubled the work of Israelites which made them say to Moses and Aaron to leave them alone cause they were happy the way they were living in the land of slavery.
We see the same word's of Israelites been spoken in chapter 14 after seeing the Egyptians pursuing them and again seeing that they is a red sea ahead which caused them to be at the "midst of the storm".
Am here to encourage someone that the circumstances and challenges around you making you to think your old life is better than what is ahead. Tell that circumstances you are going through that "My God is bigger than you!"
Challenges are there to strengthen and prepare us for the journey ahead of us. Just believe that even in the midst of the storm God is there and is aware of the situation.
Jeremiah 29:11-13. 11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. 13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)
